Americans Don't Want Impeachment, but Democrats aren't Listening “The American people are sending a pretty clear message to Washington: They are sick and tired of the investigations into President Trump and don't want Democrats in Congress to impeach him. But the Democrats aren't listening,” Marc Thiessen writes in Fox News. “A Harvard-Harris poll finds that 65 percent of Americans say Congress should not begin impeachment proceedings against Trump. Sixty percent agree with Attorney General William Barr that ‘the facts and public actions of President Trump did not amount to obstruction of justice, especially since there was no underlying collusion.’” “And 58 percent believe that ‘Given the Mueller report ... we should turn the page on investigations of President Trump.’” Click here to read more.

“If there’s anyone left in America who actually believes Democratic Party leaders are interested in constructive dialogue with President Trump on substantive policy issues like infrastructure, I have a Russian conspiracy theory to sell them,” David Harsanyi writes in the New York Post. “Don’t buy that Pelosi and Schumer are outraged. They’re loving the status quo. It allows them to use congressional oversight investigations as a cudgel to push for a sham public impeachment, undermining Trump’s political agenda. When useful, however, they can also demand Trump meet with them in good faith to hash out deals their party finds useful. There is absolutely no reason for the president to play along.”

“Congressional Democrats are dangerously close to undercutting U.S. national security for the sake of scoring political points against President Trump. Shame on them,” Quin Hillyer writes in the Washington Examiner. For members of Congress to slanderously “accuse the secretaries of state and defense, the national security adviser, and the president of dishonesty in furtherance of warmongering, while not even bothering to offer words of condemnation against evil enemies such as the Iranian government, is to undercut U.S. forces at a crucial time.”

“President Donald Trump has directed the heads of several government agencies to cooperate with Attorney General William Barr’s investigation of the origins of the Russia probe. In a memo sent out Thursday, Trump also authorized Barr to declassify documents related to the Russia investigation,” Chuck Ross reports in The Daily Caller. Yesterday’s action “will help ensure that all Americans learn the truth about the events that occurred, and the actions that were taken, during the last Presidential election and will restore confidence in our public institutions,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement.

“The New York federal judge who ruled on Wednesday that the Trump administration must comply with two subpoenas from the House Financial Services and Intelligence Committees has donated in the past to a slew of big-name Democrats -- including two who currently sit on those committees, according to federal election filings,” Gregg Re reports for Fox News. “Judges have the option to recuse themselves if there is an appearance of bias,” but Barack Obama-appointed U.S. District Judge Edgardo Ramos chose not to.
