Donald Trump News For June 8, 2016

(Trump.newsRecord setter: Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald J. Trump was already setting turnout records when he began a series of primaries to vanquish a crowded field of Republican contenders, and in the end, he set a national turnout record for Republican voters, by an astounding 1.4 million. As reported by The Gateway Pundit:
On Tuesday Donald Trump closed the door on the Republican nomination for President by winning all five of the remaining primaries — New Jersey, South Dakota, Montana, New Mexico and California. Trump won the last 16 Republican contests.
Trump has 1,536 delegates and counting.
Trump has more wins than any other Republican or Democrat candidate in this year’s race with 36. He also has more primary wins with 33 and leads all candidates in percent of overall wins and in percent of primary wins. The Pundit has much more good news to report, here.
He’s just getting started: Now that Hillary Clinton has clinched the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination (unofficially), Trump will be turning all of his attention to her. In fact, he plans a “major speech” next week, probably on Monday, in which he plans to excoriate her for her [alleged] corruption and dishonesty while serving as President Obama’s secretary of state. From The Daily Mail:
Donald Trump turned the corner on a vicious presidential primary process Tuesday night, pledging to visit a new round of political horrors on Hillary and Bill Clinton.
The Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting said that ‘probably Monday of next week’ he would deliver a ‘major speech’ featuring a discussion of ‘all of the things that have taken place with the Clintons.’
“I think you’re going to find it very informative and very, very interesting,’ he said, sporting an impish grin. ‘I wonder if the press wil want to atend. Who knows?
“The Clintons have turned the politics of personal enrichment into an art form for themselves,’ he claimed on the night when the final gusher of GOP convention delegates hit his campaign.
“They’ve made hundreds of millions of dollars selling access, selling favors, selling government contracts. And I mean hundreds of millions of dollars.”
The Donald has much more to say, and the Daily Mail has it all, here.
A toned-down Donald Trump, in a bid to appear more presidential and ease GOP jitters, has pledged to make the party proud. As noted by Rebecca Berg over at RealClearPolitics:
A chastened Donald Trump marked the final batch of primary contests Tuesday by attempting to shift to the general election in style and substance, following weeks of controversy and missteps that knocked his campaign off course.
“Tonight we close one chapter in history and begin another,” the presumptive GOP nominee said.
Speaking from his golf club in Westchester, N.Y., with the aid of teleprompters, a rare move for the celebrity businessman who lives off-script, Trump said it would be an “honor to lead the Republican Party to victory this fall.”
“I understand the responsibility of carrying the mantle, and I will never ever let you down,” he continued. “I will make you proud of our party and our movement.”
There is much more regarding Trump’s strategy moving forward, and Berg has it here.
Talk-show giant and constitutional expert Mark Levin wasn’t too impressed with Trump’s comments about the “Mexican” federal judge who is presiding over a case involving lawsuits against Trump University, but he also wanted to know why GOP Establishment leaders went out of their way to complain about his comments, all while giving Obama (and Hillary) a virtual pass on the nasty things they have said and done, recently and in the past. Per Conservative Review, where Levin is managing editor:
This is the time Republicans should be united in attacking Hillary Clinton, Levin said. But “that’s not taking place.”
“It’s quite a little mess we have on our hands, isn’t it?”
