The EU needs to understand that there is such a thing as the fair use of material in order to criticise and furthermore alternative media often encourages the dissemination of information to different blogs provided they are linked to the source. If the EU tries to enact these controls we will see a massive split away from mainstream sources (whose ratings are already in the dumps). Any progressive political group that goes against these draconian measures will get the vote of the people. They do not realise how important online freedom is to the lives of ordinary people in general.
