Ryan appeared before the press and was asked about Trey Gowdy’s outrageous claim that the FBI had acted appropriately in running a covert spy operation against the Trump campaign.
Gowdy had declared, “I am even more convinced that the FBI did exactly what my fellow citizens would want them to do.”
The Speaker sided with Gowdy and betrayed the President by providing cover for the FBI’s active measures against Trump.
Ryan stated, “I think Chairman Gowdy’s initial assessment’s accurate, I think, but we have some more digging to do. We’re waiting for some more document requests,” Ryan then continued “It would have been helpful if we got this information earlier.”
President Trump’s allies were furious.
