Although most of the media is reporting on anti-Trump voters overwhelmed by feelings of anger, frustration and anxiety, as well as being “fearful” of the future, it seems there are plenty of Trump supporters who have a good reason to be on guard after the election.
Many attendees of Trump rallies during the primary and general elections are already use to the feeling of being targeted, as some were physically assaulted by protesters along with having their property destroyed. One woman was even pelted by eggs at a rally in California earlier this year, while others as recently as last month have had their cars vandalized.
With the election over, many thought these instances of political discrimination would pass, but it seems like they are only getting worse.
CBS 2 News reported that Stella, a restaurant in Iowa City, is admitting they are charging twice as much for entry to their establishment if you voted for Donald Trump, than if you voted for Hillary Clinton. In fact, they displayed a sign on their door stating as much.
As reporters interviewed the restaurant employees, they did confirm they are charging higher prices for Trump voters and there is a sign on the door that says, “Yes, this is discrimination, but you voted for it.”
A patron states, “If you voted for Trump, you had to pay $10 to come in, if you voted for Hillary it was only $5 to come in.” The patron at first thought it was a joke, but when they found out it wasn’t, he and his wife decided to go home.

We also talked with the man who says he might not go back.Eric Stelter of Cedar Rapids left the Iowa Hawkeye game at halftime Nov. 12 to watch the rest from a nearby restaurant.“As we got closer to the door, we noticed there was a sign on the door that said, ‘Yes, this is discrimination, but you voted for it,’” he said.Stelter says at the door, an employee asked customers who they voted for.“If you voted for Trump, you had to pay $10 to come in. If you voted for Hillary, it was $5 to come in,” he said.Stelter says he and his wife found out it wasn’t a joke and they decided to go home.
The reporter stated that they contacted the owner of Stella, but were unable to reach them.
Various establishments and universities took a furious anti-Trump stance during the election, but typically just used words and statement to get their point across. Now, we have restaurants not only charging Trump voters more for their services, but openly advertising their policy on their front door as if they were proud of being discriminatory.
