Still Report #1098 – Dead Man Switch - But Snowden is “Fine”

Good evening, I’m still reporting on Snowden.
Is Edward Snowden dead or alive? According to his closest associate in the press, Glenn Greenwalt, Snowden is “fine”, but he refused to elaborate.
Twitter started rattling about Snowden on Wednesday, Aug. 3, when Snowden tweeted out:
“Did you work with me? Have we talked since 2013? Please recontact me securely, or talk to @bartongellmon. It’s time. https://co/AKmgF.AIDJ
Barton Gellmon is currently writing about Snowden’s time working in the intelligence community in order to “tell it truthfully.”
This blew up speculation that Snowden may have had access to the Clinton missing emails that were sucked up by the world’s biggest vacuum cleaner at Fort Meade – better known as the NSA.
Then, 2 days later, on Friday, what appeared to be a dead-man’s switch issued what looks like a PGP decryption key to Snowden’s 2-million Twitter followers consisting only of a 64 character code.

That looks like a PGP decryption key to me.
Such a key could unlock a treasure trove of documents that Snowden claims to still be holding onto, pending release at some point in the future, or in case of his demise.
A dead-man switch is set up if a person holds some secretive information that they threaten to release if they don’t check into their computer account at a pre-set interval – typically 24 or 48 hours.
Within minutes of being released on Twitter, the key was deleted. Then, adding to the air of an urgent mystery, several major torrent websites suddenly went dark.
Then all was quiet until 06:25 this evening when Gellmon tweeted:
“1. Everyone requesting proof of life for me and @Snowden, take a deep breath.
2. Some tweets have private meaning.
3. My @SecureDrop is up.”
And that, my friends is 100% of what is know at this hour.
Movie Director Oliver Stone has released a trailer for his upcoming fact-based film on Snowden which is slated for release on 16 September 2016.
I’m still reporting from Washington. Good day.
