MCCONNELL RECOGNIZES MILLIONS LOST TO COMMUNISM ON 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC
Criticizes nation’s surveillance, censorship and totalitarian practices

McConnell Recognizes Millions Lost to Communism on 70th Anniversary of People's Republic
On Tuesday, Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell encouraged Americans to pause and consider the millions who perished under Chinese communism as the People’s Republic observes its 70th anniversary.

My statement on the 70th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China:https://t.co/ym9uJGFKTn pic.twitter.com/DyKZ5VHWmn

— Leader McConnell (@senatemajldr) October 1, 2019

McConnell imparted that the current China ruled by President Xi Jinping, which heavily censors its people, resembles “a modern version of Maoist China.”

“From the modern gulags used to incarcerate Xinjiang’s Uighurs, to the high-tech firewalls and censorship that control the flow of information, to the state’s extensive technical surveillance, to all of the Communist Party’s other tools of social and political control, Xi Jinping’s China looks disturbingly like a modern version of Maoist China.”

The Republican senator from Kentucky also took issue with details emerging from Hong Kong, where Chinese riot police are using force to quell protests.

“I especially condemn the continued use of violence against democratic activists in Hong Kong. It is darkly fitting that on the 70th anniversary of the PRC, its agents would be reduced to using force against protesters in Hong Kong who seek to preserve basic personal freedoms. The CCP has always squashed dissent with force.”

Meanwhile, President Trump played nice with Chinese President Xi Jinping amid the ongoing trade dispute.

Congratulations to President Xi and the Chinese people on the 70th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 1, 2019

Read McConnell’s statement condemning communism below:

“On the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, we should pause to recognize the many millions of lives lost under Chinese communist rule.

“From the modern gulags used to incarcerate Xinjiang’s Uighurs, to the high-tech firewalls and censorship that control the flow of information, to the state’s extensive technical surveillance, to all of the Communist Party’s other tools of social and political control, Xi Jinping’s China looks disturbingly like a modern version of Maoist China.

“I especially condemn the continued use of violence against democratic activists in Hong Kong. It is darkly fitting that on the 70th anniversary of the PRC, its agents would be reduced to using force against protesters in Hong Kong who seek to preserve basic personal freedoms. The CCP has always squashed dissent with force.

“The Chinese Communist Party’s methods are not just a tragedy for more than a billion Chinese, who deserve to be treated with more respect and granted more freedoms by their rulers in Beijing. They are also a telling indicator of the threat the PRC poses to its neighbors. If this is how a great power treats its own citizens, just think how it will treat foreign countries who fall under China’s growing economic and military influence.”

Dems ignore evidence of Biden's corruption

Rudy Giuliani took to Twitter on Tuesday, saying the majority of big media outlets don’t cover Joe Biden’s pay-to-play corruption schemes in Ukraine and China. He claimed Biden was selling his office while he was vice president.

This comes just one day after the 2020 Biden campaign asked the mainstream media to bar Giuliani from their television news segments. The president’s attorney also presented new evidence of Biden’s alleged wrongdoing.“The day after Biden strong-armed the president to remove Shokin, they show up in the prosecutor’s office, the lawyers for Hunter Biden show up in the prosecutors office, and they give an apology for dissemination of false information,” explained Giuliani. “If you met this guy, he’s not very good at corruption, because he’s poor — unlike the prosecutor who tanked the case on Biden, who’s driving around in a Bentley.”Giuliani also slammed the mainstream media for accusing the Trump administration of corruption, saying such outlets blatantly ignore reports of actual corruption.Related: Biden Urges Impeachment, Deflects From Ukraine Dealing

Some Dems worried impeachment inquiry will backfire... THEY ARE RIGHT!

OAN Newsroom
UPDATED 1:39 PM PT – Tuesday, October 1, 2019
Senate Democrats in Republican-leaning states are worried the impeachment inquiry could ruin any chances of the Democrat Party winning back the majority in the upper chamber in 2020.Montana Senator John Tester said it’s vital that House Democrats focus on President Trump’s July phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart because he claims the president is the master of pivoting and deflecting.“My belief is that now that the speaker has decided to impeach, they need to make sure it is very, very focused,” he stated. “They need to get to the bottom of the information as promptly as they can and they need to move.”West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin echoed the same remarks as Tester, adding, Democrats should stay away from old issues and focus on investigating the Ukraine phone call because it deals with a foreign entity.Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) is pictured. ( AP Photo)However, Democrat Senator Doug Jones said he does not believe the whistleblower complaint is grounds for impeachment. The Alabama lawmaker said the complaint is based on hearsay, and he’s skeptical of using secondhand complaints to oust the president.“A lot of the whistleblower complaint is, in fact, hearsay,” said Jones. “It is what other people have told him — that is clear on its face.”

So if the so-called “Whistleblower” has all second hand information, and almost everything he has said about my “perfect” call with the Ukrainian President is wrong (much to the embarrassment of Pelosi & Schiff), why aren’t we entitled to interview & learn everything about....

Donald J. Trump

....the Whistleblower, and also the person who gave all of the false information to him. This is simply about a phone conversation that could not have been nicer, warmer, or better. No pressure at all (as confirmed by  Ukrainian Pres.). It is just another Democrat Hoax!

This comes as other liberal Democrats want a broader investigation to include issues relating to the Mueller probe and other accusations.House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the investigation would solely focus on the Ukraine conversation and not any other complaints against the president.“This is the focus of the moment because this is the charge,”she stated. “All of the other work that relates to abuse of power, ignoring subpoenas of the government of Congress, abuse a contempt of Congress by him — those things will be considered later.”Pelosi has also said there should be no rush to judgment despite announcing the impeachment inquiry ahead of the release of the transcript and the whistleblower’s complaint regarding President Trump’s Ukraine phone call.Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., speaks during an interview at The Texas Tribune Festival on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019, in Austin, Texas. Intel Community Secretly Gutted Requirement Of First-Hand Whistleblower Knowledge
COLLUSION
Intel Community Secretly Gutted Requirement Of First-Hand Whistleblower Knowledge
Federal records show that the intelligence community secretly revised the formal whistleblower complaint form in August 2019 to eliminate the requirement of direct, first-hand knowledge of wrongdoing.
By Sean Davis
Between May 2018 and August 2019, the intelligence community secretly eliminated a requirement that whistleblowers provide direct, first-hand knowledge of alleged wrongdoings. This raises questions about the intelligence community’s behavior regarding the August submission of a whistleblower complaint against President Donald Trump. The new complaint document no longer requires potential whistleblowers who wish to have their concerns expedited to Congress to have direct, first-hand knowledge of the alleged wrongdoing that they are reporting.

The brand new version of the whistleblower complaint form, which was not made public until after the transcript of Trump’s July 25 phone call with the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky and the complaint addressed to Congress were made public, eliminates the first-hand knowledge requirement and allows employees to file whistleblower complaints even if they have zero direct knowledge of underlying evidence and only “heard about [wrongdoing] from others.”

The internal properties of the newly revised “Disclosure of Urgent Concern” form, which the intelligence community inspector general (ICIG) requires to be submitted under the Intelligence Community Whistleblower Protection Act (ICWPA), show that the document was uploaded on September 24, 2019, at 4:25 p.m., just days before the anti-Trump complaint was declassified and released to the public. The markings on the document state that it was revised in August 2019, but no specific date of revision is disclosed.

The complaint alleges that President Donald Trump broke the law during a phone call with the Ukrainian president. In his complaint, which was dated August 12, 2019, the complainant acknowledged he was “not a direct witness” to the wrongdoing he claims Trump committed.

A previous version of the whistleblower complaint document, which the ICIG and DNI until recently provided to potential whistleblowers, declared that any complaint must contain only first-hand knowledge of alleged wrongdoing and that complaints that provide only hearsay, rumor, or gossip would be rejected.

“The [Intelligence Community Inspector General] cannot transmit information via the ICPWA based on an employee’s second-hand knowledge of wrongdoing,” the previous form stated under the bolded heading “FIRST-HAND INFORMATION REQUIRED.” “This includes information received from another person, such as when an employee informs you that he/she witnessed some type of wrongdoing.”

“If you think that wrongdoing took place, but can provide nothing more than second-hand or unsubstantiated assertions, [the Intelligence Community Inspector General] will not be able to process the complaint or information for submission as an ICWPA,” the form concluded.

Markings on the previous version of the Disclosure of Urgent Concern form show that it was formally approved on May 24, 2018. Here is that original Disclosure of Urgent Concern form prior to the August 2019 revision:

Here is the revised Disclosure of Urgent Concern form following the August 2019 revision:

The Ukraine call complaint against Trump is riddled not with evidence directly witnessed by the complainant, but with repeated references to what anonymous officials allegedly told the complainant: “I have received information from multiple U.S. Government officials,” “officials have informed me,” “officials with direct knowledge of the call informed me,” “the White House officials who told me this information,” “I was told by White House officials,” “the officials I spoke with,” “I was told that a State Department official,” “I learned from multiple U.S. officials,” “One White House official described this act,” “Based on multiple readouts of these meetings recounted to me,” “I also learned from multiple U.S. officials,” “The U.S. officials characterized this meeting,” “multiple U.S. officials told me,” “I learned from U.S. officials,” “I also learned from a U.S. official,” “several U.S. officials told me,” “I heard from multiple U.S. officials,” and “multiple U.S. officials told me.”

The repeated references to information the so-called whistleblower never witnessed clearly run afoul of the original ICIG requirements for “urgent concern” submissions. The change to the “urgent concern” submission form was first highlighted on Twitter by researcher Stephen McIntyre.

The complainant also cites publicly available news articles as proof of many of the allegations.

“I was not a direct witness to most of the events” characterized in the document, the complainant confessed on the first page of his August 12 letter, which was addressed to Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), the respective chairmen of the House and Senate intelligence committees. Hearsay is generally inadmissible as evidence in U.S. federal and state courts since it violates the constitutional requirement that the accused be given the opportunity to question his accusers.

The anti-Trump complaint also made several false claims that have been directly refuted and debunked. While the complaint alleged that Trump demanded that Ukraine physically return multiple servers potentially related to ongoing investigations of foreign interference in the 2016 elections, the transcript of the call between Trump and Zelensky shows that such a request was never made.

The complainant also falsely alleged that Trump told Zelensky that he should keep the current prosecutor general at the time, Yuriy Lutsenko, in his current position in the country. The transcript showed that exchange also did not happen.

Additionally, the complaint falsely alleged that T. Ulrich Brechbuhl, a U.S. State Department official, was a party to the phone call between Trump and Zelensky.

“I was told that a State Department official, Mr. T. Ulrich Brechbuhl, also listened in on the call,” the complaint alleged. Shortly after the complaint was released, CBS News reported that Brechbuhl was not on the phone call.

In a legal opinion that was released to the public along with the phone call transcript, the Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) determined that the complainant’s submission was statutorily deficient and therefore was not required to be submitted to Congress. The White House nonetheless declassified and released the document to Congress late Wednesday evening.

“The complaint does not arise in connection with the operation of any U.S. government intelligence activity, and the alleged misconduct does not involve any member of the intelligence community,” the September 3 OLC opinion noted. “Rather, the complaint arises out of a confidential diplomatic communication between the President and a foreign leader that the intelligence-community complainant received secondhand.”

“The question is whether such a complaint falls within the statutory definition of “urgent concern” that the law requires the DNI to forward to the intelligence committees,” the OLC opinion continued. “We conclude that it does not.”

It is not known precisely when the August 2019 revision to the whistleblower complaint form was approved, nor is it known which, if any, version of the Disclosure of Urgent Concern form the complainant completed prior to addressing his complaint to Congress.

Reached by phone on Friday afternoon, a Director of National Intelligence official refused to comment on any questions about the secret revision to the whistleblower form, including when it was revised to eliminate the requirement of first-hand knowledge and for what reason.

Dems ignore facts and treaties that invalidate their impeachment push

Dems, mainstream media rush to “convict” Trump of impeachable offense involving Ukraine but ignore 1999 treaty REQUIRING cooperation in criminal matters
10/01/2019 / By JD Heyes

The Left-wing Washington establishment media and Democrats, the political party they serve, have been working overtime for a week trying to convince Americans that President Donald Trump committed an impeachable offense for a) something he never did; and b) something former Vice President Joe Biden did do.

Specifically, they are claiming that the president engaged in a “quid pro quo” when he allegedly withheld military aid from Ukraine unless the government helped his administration investigate a business deal involving Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

According to a transcript of a July phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky, no such quid pro quo was offered or mentioned. And the military aid the U.S. promised Ukraine was, in fact, delivered. Nothing in the transcript suggests anything different.

But there is another aspect to the assistance that Trump was seeking: A 1998 treaty signed by then-President Bill Clinton and ratified by the U.S. Senate requiring Washington and Kiev to cooperate on criminal investigations.

As James Howard Kunstler noted on his website:

Someone in Impeachmentville is not paying attention. Of course, diverting the rubes is exactly the point of the latest CIA operation to negate the 2016 election. Has nobody noticed that there is a treaty between Ukraine and the USA, signed at Kiev in 1998 and ratified by the US Senate in 2000. It’s an agreement on “Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters.”

The treaty states: “The Treaty is self-executing. It provides for a broad range of cooperation in criminal matters. Mutual assistance available under the Treaty includes: taking of testimony or statements of persons; providing documents, records, and articles of evidence; serving documents; locating or identifying persons; transferring persons in custody for testimony or other purposes; executing requests for searches and seizures; assisting in proceedings related to restraint, confiscation, forfeiture of assets, restitution, and collection of fines; and any other form of assistance not prohibited by the laws of the requested state… ([etc].”

What part of this does House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the rest of the impeachment-happy Democrats not understand? This is a treaty; under our Constitution it’s the same as a duly-passed law. It must be followed. (Related: GET READY: It’s time to start taking names of all the traitors pushing the fabricated “impeachment” coup against this nation.)

Is our republic about to die?
So, if President Trump, using this “self-executing” treaty, wanted to know about possible criminal corruption involving any American in his/her dealings with Ukraine, regardless of whether that person was a former vice president or the son of a former vice president, he could do that. Legally.

In fact, by law, he’s required to do that. And by treaty, the government of Ukraine is required to cooperate — which it has, apparently.

According to presidential lawyer Rudy Giuliani, a number of Ukrainians have provided him with sworn testimony claiming that Joe Biden actually did what he bragged about in a video during a Council on Foreign Relations seminar last year: He threatened to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees from Ukraine if that government didn’t fire a prosecutor who was investigating criminal corruption involving a company that appointed Hunter Biden to their board — at $50,000 per month.

The Democrats have to know this; Pelosi has to know it. She also knows about the treaty between the U.S. and Ukraine, because she’s been in Congress for decades (and has become a poster child for term limits — like quite a few other members).

And yet, they are running full-tilt towards impeachment or, at least, that’s what they are saying. We won’t know if they are serious until they hold an actual vote in Congress to begin an impeachment inquiry, which is required by the Constitution.

This Ukraine ‘scandal’ is just the latest attempt by Democrats and their deep state allies to overturn the 2016 election. If they are successful, our republic is dead.

Pompeo hits back against Dems bullying and intimidating State Dept. officials

NEWS OCTOBER 01, 2019
Sec. Mike Pompeo hits back against House Dems' efforts to 'bully' and 'intimidate' State Dept. officials
'I will not tolerate such tactics'

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo decried a subpoena sent to his department from the House Foreign Affairs Committee as an effort to "intimidate, bully, & treat improperly" State Department officials on Tuesday.

Ditch the fake news ==> Click here to get news you can trust sent right to your inbox. It's free!
In a letter responding to the committee's subpoena, Pompeo told chairman Elliot Engel (D-N.Y.) that he had "been made aware that Committee staff has been sending intimidating communications to career Department professionals who have specifically asked for Committee communications to be channeled through the Bureau of Legislative Affairs."

The letter was sent Tuesday in response to the ongoing controversy about President Donald Trump's July phone call with the president of Urkaine.

House Democrats from three committees — Foreign Affairs, Intelligence, and Oversight — sent the subpoenas for Pompeo and five other State Department officials on Friday, following Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) announcement of an "official impeachment inquiry" in the lower chamber. The subpoenas are for documents related to how the State Department worked with Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani and records involving the phone call. They also notified multiple officials of scheduled depositions.

"Let me be clear," Pompeo continued in his letter Tuesday, "I will not tolerate such tactics and I will use all means at my disposal to prevent and expose any attempts to intimidate the dedicated professionals whom I am proud to lead and serve alongside the Department of State."

The letter goes on to list other problems with the committee's request, including the lack of a notice of deposition for its requests, "a woefully inadequate opportunity for the Department and the requested witnesses to prepare," and the committee's apparent intention to not allow State Department legal counsel to participate in the depositions.

Pompeo also suggested that officials currently employed at the State Department would not be testifying, despite the scheduled depositions.

"Your letter implies that you have sought to compel Department officials to appear for depositions on the identified dates," the secretary wrote, "yet the committee has not issued any subpoenas for depositions, and we are not aware of any authority by which the committee could compel appearance at a deposition."

Pompeo has come under increased scrutiny in the Ukraine call controversy, especially after Monday's report that he was actually on the July 25 phone call himself.

The House Oversight Committee's top Republican, Jim Jordan (Ohio), followed news of Pompeo's letter with a statement citing "serious concerns about Democrats' targeting of our career foreign policy professionals, which would put our diplomatic interests at risk."

A nugget of truth from Bill Maher

OAN Newsroom
UPDATED 9:53 AM PT – Tuesday, October 1, 2019
Left-wing political commentator Bill Maher is slamming Democrats for not holding former Vice President Joe Biden to the same standards as other lawmakers. The talk show host’s remarks come as Biden continues to make headlines for his son’s controversial ties to Ukraine.Maher compared the current controversy surrounding the former vice president to past allegations against former congressman Al Franken, who resigned when multiple women accused the senator of sexual assault. In a recent tweet, the political commentator said allegations of Biden’s secondhand connection to Ukraine draws parallels with the allegations that jump-started Franken’s resignation because like Franken’s scandal, Biden’s controversy would be bad for the party’s brand.

Bill Maher

@billmaher
If Al Franken had to go because Dems had to be totally clean on MeToo stuff in comparison with Trump/Rep.s, should Biden withdraw so Dems are totally clean on Ukraine swampiness? Its not a fair comparison, but neither was Franken. Asking for a friend.

This isn’t the first time Maher has suggested factions of his party are playing by two different sets of rules. On that same day, the New York Times published a Q&A with the talk show host that slammed the far-left’s PC (political correctness) Culture. He claimed it stifles the country’s ability to learn and grow from mistakes.FILE – Bill Maher speaks to the crowd in Beverly Hills, Calif. (Casey Curry/Invision/AP Photo)The recent remarks from Maher echoes some comments he has made in the past:“It’s kind of a cancer on progressivism. I’ve been saying this for years…that first of all, you have to stand up to Twitter. Twitter isn’t us. Twitter isn’t the rank-and-file Democrats. It’s not even most liberals.”Last week Maher also blasted his party, specifically MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, for coverage of the Ukraine-Biden controversy.“It does sound like something Don Jr. would do and and if Don Jr. did it, it would be all Rachel Maddow was talking about,” he pointed out.Maher sighted similar examples in the New York Times piece and warned his party to stop its PC Culture and double-standards that’s, in part, spearheaded by the far-left.

According to transcripts of a phone call released by the White House, Trump asked for a “favor” from Ukraine to look into 2016 election interference. He additionally asked Ukraine President Zelensky to look into possible corruption after Joe Biden “bragged” that he bribed a prosecutor to end an investigation into his son’s company.

Following the media frenzy over President Trump’s phone call with the Ukraine president, in which Trump allegedly offered a quid pro quo for the government to look into the Biden-Hunter scandal, Biden had attempted to distance himself from the matter by denying he and Hunter ever discussed his career.

“I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings,” he recently stated. “I know Trump deserves to be investigated. He is violating every basic norm of a president. You should be asking him why is he on the phone with a foreign leader, trying to intimidate a foreign leader. You should be looking at Trump.”

Hunter additionally told The Washington Post in July, “At no time have I discussed with my father the company’s business or my board service.”

In a later interview with the New Yorker, Hunter did admit he and his father discussed Ukraine “just once.”

Democrats, meanwhile, are ignoring Biden’s blatant corruption as they continue to pursue an impeachment against Trump.
